Sticky Innovation

Picture

This is a class I am currently taking, focusing on the importance of bees, solutions to the wicked problem of Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), and the interactions between our two species. It is a dual class and has elements of design as well as engineering. Throughout the year I will update this page with the work I complete for each assignment. I am very excited for all I will learn in this class, and I already feel like I've been exposed to wonderful new paths of critical thinking. This experience will be completed by January of 2019.

Field Experiences

We attended several different sites to learn more about bees and the innovative ways that people solve complex problems (like CCD). You can click the button below to see where we went and what I thought about each visit!

Fishbowl

The fishbowl project includes sharing what we learned from one of the selected bee-related novels in front of the class. I picked Buzz, Urban Beekeeping and the Power of the Bee. You can click the button below to see the PowerPoint me and my group mate put together, and what I thought about the entire experience!

The Ideal Bee

Our assignment was to create the "Ideal Bee" and make a 3D model of our idea. You can click below to see what my group made and how I felt about the process of putting it together!

Final Project

The final project for this class was to design a possible solution for Colony Collapse Disorder, and to promote the general knowledge and maintenance of bees, and their habitats. My group chose to present a business model that provides rent-able hives to interested parties. Our ideation process and final presentation can be found by clicking the button below!
